Ahhh, Travel Bangkok

Posted by admin on Nov 13 2007 | Travel Thailand

Today when I travel Bangkok I will go travel Thailand on the train going from Bangkok to Chiang Mai. This is really a cool way to travel because you get to see most of the Thailand country side. Most trains leave about 3:30PM. Don’t forget to get a first class sleeper. It’s about $40 dollars and it’s well worth it. If you get a 2nd class sleeper you will go to bed when the other person is ready and this can be kind of bothersome. So, spring for the first class sleeper. When the train starts to head out, work your way up to the dinner car. That is where you can get some food and drink a beer while doing some site seeking.

Now, when it’s time for you to go to sleep, simply just let the attendant know and he will setup your bed for you. Breakfast is served in the dinner car or you can simply pick from a dish that is precooked and walked down the isles of the train. This is a great way to travel Bangkok and travel Thailand for that matter.

Todays Travel Bangkok travel log is about the old city of Ayutthaya. Ayutthaya was the old capital of Thailand about 417 years ago and has a lot of old history there. From all the old temples to the city itself. It used to be a trading hub back in the day but now it’s known for it’s history. It’s a great place to visit when you travel Bangkok. When you travel outside Bangkok and visit the ancient city of Ayutthaya, be sure to take a tour of the temples there. You can actually walk up and down the ancient stairs on some of the temples.
