Santika Club Fire – 53 Dead
I’m just getting wind of a very bad fire at the Santika club in Bangkok down on Sukhumvit Road. It looks like 53 people are dead so far. From what I can tell a fireworks display on the stage got out of hand and people were trapped in the bathroom. I have a lot of friends that go to this club very often. I hope they are all ok.
You would think that a New Years celebration would be safe but I guess not. I got forwarded this video just a few hours ago. It’s amazing how fast it got posted on YouTube. I must warn you that the video is really graphic. So, you’ve been warned.
I send my deepest sympathies and prayers out to the famies of the dead and the wounded. I wish them all a speedy recovery. Chok Dee Mak Mak.
